Probably Nothing - JUNE 2023

A note from Alex Smeele

VP OF COMMUNITY

It’s hard to believe that we’re already halfway through 2023. In less than two years we’ve managed to achieve so much across this ecosystem of companies, with well over 30 different collections launched across both Ethereum and The Root Network, partnerships with some of the biggest brands and names in the world, as well as rolling out The Root Network itself and all of the intense work that has been going into the ASM Protocol behind the scenes. I’m deeply humbled by the support we’ve had over this journey to date, and incredibly excited for all that’s yet to come.

As we move into the second half of 2023, we’re itching to start rolling out a number of initiatives and products which we’ve been developing in the background. Starting in July, you can expect to see the launch of FutureScore and more ROOT-related updates as we continue developing The Root Network into our vision for a truly purpose-built blockchain network for the Metaverse. Additionally, expect to see the launch of more games and experiences, as well as some interesting AI use cases from our innovation department, headed up by the one and only David McDonald.

On the community front, we will be actioning consolidation and overhaul of our Discord servers in the coming weeks. We appreciate the input we’ve received from the community in helping us design the best possible structure and have carefully crafted our new Discord servers to help facilitate the flow of information to and from the community. We will also be launching our new Community Comms Calendar with a regular schedule of podcasts, AMAs, technical deep-dives, and casual chats with guests from across the Futureverse team; as well as the creation of the Futureverse News Hub, a single source of truth for all Futureverse-related news.

As always, thank you for being on this journey with us as we lay the foundations for the future of the internet, one which promises to learn from the mistakes of Web2 to empower everyday users through the decentralisation of information, self-custody of data and assets, and the empowerment of everyday people to explore their creative potential.

ASM Protocol in Action, Introducing Paddi.

Earlier this month, we were thrilled to announce Paddi, our futuristic take on a nostalgic arcade game. This demo of the ASM AI Protocol has undergone extensive testing by our amazing community and is a showcase of how AI can seamlessly integrate into Web3 games. Paddi offers a captivating gaming experience that merges the best of the past with the innovations of the future. Stay tuned for more exciting updates as we continue to push the boundaries of AI and gaming.

FuturePass Update

The latest update for FuturePass is now complete. We have successfully transitioned from an EVM-based implementation to a native component integrated within @TheRootNetwork. This update brings several advantages, including reduced gas fees and improved security. As a result, your existing FuturePass address has been changed to the new 0xFFFFFFF format, making it easier to identify in your wallet. You will notice this change when using experiences with FuturePass integration, such as Fluf World, The Next Legends, ATEM Car Club, GodsnGoblins, and the FuturePass dashboard. We appreciate your patience during the maintenance period, and we're excited to provide you with an enhanced FuturePass experience.

Community Genome Mapping

Earlier this week The Prawns launched the Community Genome Mapping event; a unique opportunity for Genesis Brain holders to have a say in which areas of an ASM Brain's genome heatmap represent which gaming or personality attributes.

This event is currently live and will run until 2pm PT, 2nd July 2023. If you have a Genesis Brain, have your say here: https://mapping.theprawns.xyz/

In addition to helping shape the future of ASM Brain utility, this mapping event also acts as a ROOT Challenge from The Root Network. Participants who complete the mapping event will receive 100 ROOT per Genesis Brain held in the corresponding wallet. A snapshot of wallets with Genesis Brains has been taken in the days prior to the commencement of this event.

Meet The Team - Monty

What is your role at Futureverse? The newly appointed Futureverse Community Manager.

What were you doing beforehand? Before Futureverse I work in community management IRL, creating events, parties, and activations. Mix that with my passion for web3 and voila! The perfect combo.

What is your favourite collection? Gotta be the Seekers. Not only because I worked with them from the inception, or because they look awesome, but they are the ecosystem's sleeping giant. What we have in store is something not to be missed or overlooked. The Seekers are the key to connecting the open metaverse.

What are your interests outside of work? Knitting, walking, touchin’ grass n throwin’ stones.

Trait Dive - Blast Eyes

Blast Eyes are an explosive visual spectacle. A captivating trait possessed by the ill-fated Flufs that failed to escape the fallout of the Wreck. When the decimation subsided, these Flufs emerged forever altered; each iris a swirling vortex of kaleidoscopic hues, the horrors they had seen forever etched into their collective gaze. While the Wreck is but a distant memory, the remnants of catastrophe still linger in the eyes of this resilient few. A stark reminder of chaos, survival and transformation borne of turmoil. As mysterious as they are captivating, Blast Eyes, and the power they possess, have been the source of rampant rumour in the burrows of the Underground. From whispers of heightened perception to legends of prophetic vision, they remain shrouded in myth and intrigue. Some Flufs believe the energy radiating from these irises enables them to see beyond the ordinary, opening gateways into other realms within our universe. Other Flufs call those Flufs crazy. Despite the speculation, Blast Eyes are yet to be fully understood. What is undebatable, however, is the mesmerising allure they add to any Fluf, making them a highly sought-after trait within the collection.

Final Words

In conclusion, the June edition of Probably Nothing has been packed with exciting updates and achievements within the Futureverse ecosystem. From receiving the prestigious recognition in the Sir Paul Callaghan 100 Report to showcasing the ASM Protocol through the release of the AI-integrated game Paddi, and completing the FuturePass update for enhanced user experience, we continue to push the boundaries of innovation. The launch of The Root Network's website and the upcoming initiatives and products in the second half of 2023 further demonstrate our commitment to empowering individuals within the Futureverse. We express our gratitude to the community for their support and look forward to the future as we build a decentralized, creative, and empowering web3 space.
